When creating this product we chose to use the ubiquinone form of CoQ10, (even though ubiquinol is thought to be more bioavailable)
Ubiquinone is actual CoQ10, a powerful antioxidant,which when used as a supplement has been shown to improve cardiovascular health, optimise energy, and promote muscle recovery amongst many other health benefits.
A newer commercially available source called ‘Ubiquinol’ emerged in the mid-2000s and was marketed as a superior, more bioavailable source, with a raw ingredient price tag to match.
Ubiquinol and Ubiquinone both naturally exist in the body, and in fact, they transform between the two forms themselves, once ingested. So it makes no difference which form you take, because it’s going to be converted from whatever form you took, to the other.
Important to know as well, is that outside of the body ubiquinol is molecularly highly unstable, and shortly after exposure to oxygen, it oxidises to ubiquinone. It’s also worth knowing that the majority of studies which show benefit, are based on use of Ubiquinone.
